Petty is fine.
Unsafe isn't.
Mehtch is built on rejection, not on tolerating harassment. Here's exactly how the safety features work.
Block and report always work
Blocking and reporting are never disabled, gated, or delayed, including against someone currently in Berserker Mode. Berserker Mode gives someone unlimited swipes, message-first privileges and top-of-deck placement for up to 8 hours. It does not override your ability to block or report them, and it does not stop your block from taking effect immediately.
Blocking someone removes them from your Discover deck, ends any open match with them, and prevents them from messaging you again.
What Super Reject does, and doesn't
A Super Reject benches the target from your Discover deck for 24 hours. That's the entire effect. It does not message them, does not notify their contacts, does not touch any existing match or chat you have with them, and does not affect their ability to use the app for anyone else.
If the target is holding a Shield, the Super Reject bounces back and benches the sender instead. Shields and Super Rejects are consumable items. See Pricing.
Enemy Takeover is consensual, and cosmetic
Enemy Takeover lets one side of an existing match temporarily override the other person's bio, one prompt answer, or profile badge for 24 hours. Purely cosmetic, purely for a bit. It only ever runs between two people who already matched.
- The target must explicitly accept the takeover request before anything changes. Nothing happens without consent.
- It never touches photos, real name, age, gender, or anything used for verification or safety review.
- It reverts automatically after 24 hours, and either person can end it early at any time.
- It has no effect on Discover ranking, matching, or messaging permissions.
Photo and profile moderation
Reported photos and profiles are reviewed by our team. Accounts with enough open reports are automatically hidden from Discover pending review. We remove content that violates our Terms (nudity outside what's allowed, harassment, underage users, spam, and impersonation) and we ban accounts that keep it up.
How to report someone
Open their profile or your chat with them and tap Report. Pick the reason that fits (harassment, fake profile, inappropriate content, underage, spam, or other) and add detail if you can, because it helps our review move faster. Reporting someone also blocks them.
If you're in danger right now
Contact your local emergency services immediately. In India, dial 112. Mehtch's in-app safety tools are not a substitute for emergency help. If a date feels unsafe, leave, get somewhere public, and call for help first. Report to us after.
